Ops awards deadline looms

12 July, 2012

The deadline for entries for this years Operations Managers Awards from the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers has been extended to the end of August.

The extension will give time-pressed operators more time to nominate managers for the Awards. ALMR chief executive Nick Bish said: “We have been absolutely delighted with the number of companies that have nominated members of their operations team. Everyone is fantastically busy driving business and so we have decided to give more time for the entry papers to be completed, and moving the deadline back provides time for busy ops managers to do just that.“

The Awards, now in their 16th year, are in categories for leased or tenanted and managed estates. Applicants must complete an entry form to be read by the ALMR’s expert judges, who will reveal a longlist of 20 applicants to be assessed on the job and by an interview. They will also attend a three-day training academy Masterclass.

Bish said the Awards were a benchmark for ops managers in the industry, with previous winners rising up to even more senior posts or starting their own businesses. “We often hear companies say how good their ops team is; and this seems a good moment to demonstrate that quality by pitching the company’s best among the industry’s best.”

This year’s winners will be named at the ALMR’s Christmas lunch on 13 December. For much more about the Awards and details of how to submit entries, visit the ALMR’s dedicated website.
