25 June, 2012
Zizzi, PizzaExpress, Nando’s, Byron, Australasia, CAU, Brewdog and Dirty Martini are among a host of operators nominated for this year’s Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.
The full shortlist in the multiple restaurant category takes in Byron’s Haymarket, Gaucho’s CAU spin-off in Guildford, Iberica’s Canary Wharf, Nando’s in Westfield Stratford (pictured), Pizza Express in Plymouth, Wildwood in Canary Wharf and Zizzi in Croydon.
In the multiple bar or club category, the shortlist is made up of BrewDog in Glasgow, Dirty Martini in Hanover Square, Searcys in One New Change and The Big Chill House in Kings Cross. The restaurant or bar in a retail space section lists Café Liberty at Liberty, El Cantara, Las Iguanas and M&S Tasting Café, all at Westfield Stratford, Pitfield in London, Wahaca at Bluewater and Zizzi in Leeds.
Standout shortlistings in a multitude of other categories include Living Ventures’ Australasia in Manchester and Tampopo’s East Street in London in the standalone restaurant section; and Jamie’s Italian’s Cheltenham branch in the category for restaurant or bar in another space. The identity section is particularly interesting, listing Little Chef and acclaimed burger concept Honest Burgers among others.
All operators are nominated for their awards alongside the design company they worked with. The awards will be presented in London on 6 September. To read the shortlists in full, click here.
