Pizza Hut hits a million on Facebook
13 February, 2013
Pizza Hut has reached the milestone of one million ‘Likes’ for its UK Facebook page. The brand said it had doubled its Facebook fans from half a million in just over a year.
In Peach Report’s recently published chart of the highest performing businesses, only Nando’s had hit the one million milestone on Facebook, though Starbucks has also now joined Pizza Hut there.
It was also ranked in the UK’s ten most popular brands on social media from any field in a report last year by SocialBakers.
The company is now claiming to be the most liked pizza chain in the UK, and has celebrated the achievement by giving out free pizzas to passers-by on UK streets. It has compiled a ‘Thanks a million’ video clip of its celebrations; click here to view.
Pizza Hut has put Facebook at the centre of a major digital marketing campaign. Chief marketing officer Mags Dixon said: “We’re absolutely delighted that one million fans have liked our Facebook page and it’s a testament to the affection and warmth customers have for our brand. We love to engage and connect with our customers and this is a great platform to make that happen.”
