Chiquito's makes 'augmented reality' look child's play
6 June, 2012
Mexican restaurant chain Chiquito's has launched an 'augmented reality' campaign aimed at children using Blippar-powered placemats in its restaurants.
By scanning the mats using a Blippar app, young customers can access a game overlaid onto the placemat and see photos of themselves alongside the Chiquito mascots.
“Families are a core market and we do our best to make the restaurant as child-friendly as possible,” says Chiquito md Nick White. “We’re always looking for fun ways to keep children entertained before and during their meals. We think the campaign with Blippar will be a great way to bring extra excitement to the overall Chiquito’s experience.”
The campaign will run for 12 months, starting 29 May, in 69 Chiquito restaurants across the UK.
