New openings: More for Inventive and Meat Liquor

9 May, 2012

Inventive Leisure has signed two more sites to its spirit-led formats. It joins operators including Meat Liquor, Prezzo, BrewDog, Wagamama, Harvester and YO! Sushi with expansion plans this week.

Inventive has picked up a spot for its Revolucion de Cuba rum bar concept on Peter Street in Manchester, and a venue in Bournemouth that will be shared by its Revolucion and Revolution Vodka formats.

Acclaimed London burger concept Meat Liquor has opened a second permanent venue—the Meat Market in Covent Garden’s Jubilee Hall. It is planned as a faster-turnaround version of Meat Liquor with takeout available. More takes on the Meat Liquor formula are planned.

Casual Italian giant Prezzo is to open in the Pipeworks retail development in Swadlincote. Pending a license application, it hopes to open by September.

Scottish brewery BrewDog has opened its seventh UK craft beer bar—on Peter Street in Manchester.

Mitchells & Butlers is to open a Harvester restaurant in Liverpool’s Central Village development. It will join operators including Cosmo and Prezzo there.

Wagamama has opened up at the McArthurGlen outlet in Cheshire Oaks.

YO! Sushi will open its first US restaurant at Union Station in Washington DC in June. Under a local franchise deal, two sites are expected to open by the end of the year in the DC area, with a pipeline of more lined up. The franchise team are Richard Pawlowski, who runs 36 casual dining sites include Cosi, Qdoba Mexican and Bugaboo Creek concepts, and Darren Wightman, former executive chef for YO! Sushi in the UK.

Italian concept Coco di Mama is to open a second site near Moorgate in the City. It joins the original, acclaimed venue on Fleet Street.
