Luke Johnson in frame for Pizza Hut
17 June, 2012
Luke Johnson and his Risk Capital private equity firm are said to have submitted a final-round bid to acquire Pizza Hut's UK restaurants, according to reports in the Independent and London Evening Standard.
The entrepreneur and former chairman of PizzaExpress faces competition from at least two other private-equity firms, including Rutland Partners and Leeds-based Endless, it is said.
Yum Brands, the owner of the Pizza Hut brand, as well as the KFC and Taco Bell chains globally, put the UK restaurant business up for sale this year, hiring PwC to run the auction.
