Sales rise for McMullen
27 June, 2012
Pub operator and brewer McMullen’s says it edged up turnover in the year to 1 October 2011. The company reported sales up 3.5% to £60.8m in the year, with pre-tax profits up 24% to £7.3m.
Like most pub groups recently, its sales rose fastest in the managed division, by 2.5% on a like for like basis, while falling slightly across its tenanted estate. Pubs it refurbished during the period performed very strongly, it said.
McMullen was founded in 1827 and is based in Hertfordshire. As well as its pubs, it also runs six Baroosh bars, with another due to open soon in Marlow.
